DIY wall hanging christmas tree

My apartment Christmas tree

Hello to the few people making it out to my page :) (ha). Thank you for visiting! It has been a full month since I started this post… I’ve been procrastinating. It BUT December is busy so that’s okay. (tell yourself it’s okay one more time, IT’S OKAY). It has been a full year since I started this post. I procrastinated last Christmas so hard that welp! Here we are.

SO. You have a small space with no room for a Christmas tree. What to do? Hang it! Follow these visuals and steps for a hanging DIY apartment-sized Christmas tree!

A wall decoration that looks like a Christmas tree. The decoration is handmade and hangs from hemp rope off of a foraged stick from a local trail. Natural Christmas decor ideas for limited space; Christmas decorations for a small condo or apartment.

I didn’t take step-by-step pictures of this… but you’re SMRT so I’m pretty sure you can figure out how to do it just by looking at the picture (I mean.. that’s what I did. What idea is even original these days anyway?).

I should note. I had no idea that you need to water a Christmas tree… and so these branches have got quite crisp over the last month! If you want this to look nice and fresh for the day of Christmas… I’d wait until a week or so before the 25th to make it!

Natural elements made up to look like a christmas tree that hang from a stick. DIY Christmas decor idea

Steps to make a wall decoration Christmas tree:

  1. Walk outside and find you a nice stick. Try and find one that’s already dried out.

  2. Clean up said stick (brush off dirt etc). You could probably boil it if you think necessary.

  3. Lay out branches in a triangle form (See image: Layout)

  4. Put stick above branches (whatever distance you want)

  5. Measure hemp rope from the stick to the branch.

  6. Tie branches to stick.

  7. Mount to wall. I used two nails and laid the stick on top of them.
